HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Az ScQRPions Stinger Singer frequency counter is one of the best kits available today.  The frequency is announced in Morse Code and has six different modes as well as two speeds and is accurate to within 10Hz!

In the photo at the right, I used a different Piezo than comes with the kit.  The piezo that comes with the kit must be mounted to a metal case such as the lid to an Altoids tin.  I used a little piezo from Radio Shack.  It is Radio Shack Part No. 273-074A and it is much easier to use than the standard piezo disk that is included in the kit.  HOWEVER... if you DO intend to mount this kit into a metal tin, the original disk is better suited because you don't have to cut a hole.

Overall, this is an EXCELLENT frequency counter that only takes fifteen to twenty minutes to build.  It is very tiny and will fit inside most small QRPp rigs.

I highly recommend the "Stinger Singer".  It is an excellent kit and a fantastic value.  You simply won't find a better, cheaper, or more accurate audible frequency counter anywhere!
