Ok everyone... time to get your Pixie 2 kits ordered. We'll give everyone a week or so to get them and then we'll get started. I'm still trying to figure out how to coordinate all this... so please bear with me. I'll do my best to make this a great educational experience for everyone involved. If you feel you are an *expert* at the Pixie 2 and how it works, please email me directly and help me put together some material. I'm going to need some help with this so please contribute if you can.

As with previous "Elmer" courses (discussions)... please put "Elmer 001" in the subject line of every message so those that wish to apply an email filter can do so. I will also be adding an Elmer 001 section to our Web site to archive the lessons, notes, etc.

Here's a link to HSC so you can order your Pixie 2 kit for $9.95.

http://www.halted.com/ or directly to the Pixie Order page:

Make sure you get a XTAL (I will be focusing on the 40 meter version as that's what I have the most experience with. However, all bands are welcome and will be included in the discussion. You'll also need an enclosure, a pair of 1/8 phone jacks (I prefer stereo for headphones and mono for the key) and a BNC connector or other antenna connector. You'll also need a soldering iron, solder, wire clippers, wire strippers, etc.

So, if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know. Lets discuss what we want to get from this and what areas we should focus on.

By the way, is there anyone who plans on participating that has *never* built a kit before? Please don't be afraid to speak up. We are ALL here to learn.

Also, if you subscribe to other ham radio groups or lists that you think might have people who would be interested, please let them know.
